Best Surf Spots in Bali, Indonesia

Uluwatu on the southern end of Bali is high on the list of surfers premier destinations. The Peak, right in front of the warungs in line with the cave is at its best on high tide. Racetrack is a super fast but manageable barrel that is handy even on the low tide, but can be a bit on the shallow side. Uluwatu’s outside corner is generally regarded as one of the best waves anywhere in the world. The corner doesn’t start breaking unless the swell is at least in the 8' range and then if you are up to it you can be in for a long and fast ride. In the wet season the swell can get up to 10’ but drops to an average 2-5’ in the dry season.

Canggu:
A variety of beach breaks comprising long left and short right breaks

Kuta:
Best known for great breaks, but crowded

Airport:
Standard right and left 50 – 150m long 6’-10’ waves

Berawa:
Classic fast left very consistent waves from 3’- 6’

Jimbaran:
Standard beach break right and left hand wave up to 12’ swells from the west. Westerly waves start working at 5-6’ and hold at up to 12’

Tandjung Sari:
Very consistent right and left hand hollow, fast and powerful waves starting at 3’-5’ and holding at 8’

Legian Beach:
Beach breaks, right and left hollow, fast powerful waves working at 5-6 and holding at 10

Ketewel:
Fast powerful right hand waves holding at 10’
